Logic Pro X tutorials?

10 comments

Hi guys!

I apologize for not knowing this already, but I feel a little lost when it comes to ReRoute and music software (I'm using Logic Pro X). Trying to wrap my head around everything, but the tutorial covering the basics didn't really cut it out for me. How do I control two separate tracks with my pair of gloves? It's super-easy to control ONE track with BOTH gloves, but I have no idea how to use multiple tracks – and switch between them with the knob...

I apologize for this stupid question, but do you plan to record more tutorial videos anytime soon? I'd love a thorough Logic Pro X tutorial. :)

Keep up the great work!

/Henrik

yeah its impossible to program a midi channel switch with the T8, but I Have been using keyzones within Kontakt to switch between instruments and synthesis. I really hope they update the Reroute software to allow full channel programing capabilties within a DAW.

Perhaps the Knob Set parameter could use an update, to allow the T8 to cycle into different commands like f(#) class keybinds

Are you using a single glove or a pair of gloves? Do you know how to control different tracks with each glove in Logic?

Hey guys! I have just created a short playlist that explains the new capabilities with ReRoute 1.1 and how to program a MIDI channel switch (by using multiple sets)!

Here it is: https://www.remidi-pro.com/forum/reroute-1/reroute-1-1-tutorials

@henrik: I will soon record a tutorial about Logic Pro X. However, what I suggest when using ReRoute 1.1 with Logic is what follows:

1. download ReRoute 1.1: https://www.remidi-pro.com/download;

2. Create your sets within ReRoute as explained here: https://youtu.be/HRlwN3Lha6I;

3. Turn both X and Y axis On, in the Accelerometers section;

4. Select Modulation and Expression in the Air Modulation section (top of the screen) of each of the Sets you create, as they are by default;

-> this way you'll be able to play any chords and notes combination while using the Air Modulation, without need of any crazy setting. All you have to do, is to create a VST channel within Logic Pro X, select it and you'll be able to play it at full speed.

Let me know if this works!

Hey @Baldo!

Thank you so much for the reply, and for uploading the new videos. I think I've figured it out now – I wasn't aware of the fact that when creating a new software track in Logic, the MIDI channel is set to ”All” by default. I guess I'll have to actually assign it to a channel (1, 2, and so on). I will try it out tomorrow. Wish me luck! :)

Nope, it didn't work, both gloves are still controlling the same selected track, despite assigning different MIDI channels and customizing the channels in ReRoute... I guess I'll have to wait for your Logic Pro X tutorial, @Baldo.

I use Logic Pro X and and the use and configuration is not obvious I look forward to the video

THKS for your videos.

Hey guys, I have made a video showing how to assign different Sets (from ReRoute) to different Midi channels within Logic. By using the following technique, you'll be able to both control different Instruments with each of the Remidi T8s you're using (if you're using 2 gloves) or to control multiple instruments with the same T8, by creating various Sets that sends signals to different Midi channels.

Watch it carefully and let me know if it helps! If anything is not clear, please comment here and I will clarify.

Sincerely,

Baldo

Thanks a lot Baldo, I would never have figured that out on my own! Can't wait to play around during the weekend. :)

    I noticed that both bands on my T8 Glove set are actually using the same Knob encoder Messaging system commands for midi input, which is CH01.CC.028. I'd like to use my Left T8 as Deck A and my Right T8 as Deck B, but I cannot map independantly within Traktor because of midi channel overlapping. I would still like to see the source code for the Remidi Software, that way I can code around these caviats. is there anyway to change the Midi messages from the encoder(wristband) itself? Thanks Rocci.

    since remix allows for knob rotation parameters, how could I program my knob on th T8 to scroll through channels? is this possible? thanks in advance.
